ABOUT B2T
Our Story
B2T was founded by Brandon Bridges, who has spent over a decade coming of age inside the North Carolina Adult Correctional system after being sentenced at just 18 years old. From the inside, Brandon has spent that time turning his own experience into something useful — writing, mentoring, and speaking directly to young people who are standing at the same crossroads he once stood at.
In 2024, Brandon met Kristen (Kay), a public librarian whose first encounter with the justice system came through him. What started as letters grew quickly — within four months they were engaged, and a little over a year later they were married at Nash Correctional Institute. Today Brandon and Kay run B2T together as husband and wife — Brandon from inside, Kay from outside — building the organization neither of them could have built alone.

WHAT WE DO
Coaching & Encouragement — one-on-one support for people navigating incarceration, reentry, or life alongside an incarcerated loved one.
At-Risk Outreach — mentorship and real talk for young people at risk of gang involvement, the justice system, or giving up on themselves too soon.
Reform Advocacy — pushing for changes to North Carolina’s sentencing and justice policies, and helping supporters make their voices heard with lawmakers. We believe this can be accomplished by building a unified justice-impacted community.
WHo we serve
B2T exists for justice-impacted individuals and the families who love them — spouses, parents, kids, and friends who are often forgotten in conversations about incarceration. We also serve young people who are at risk of following a similar path, offering them an alternative story before they have to live through the hard way of learning it.
